In the present environment, any serious thinking on contemporary and emerging issues of modern business suggest that the present assumption and perspectives are increasingly becoming obsolete. What is therefore required is a wide appreciation of existing business environment and a vision of its evolution into the future. Only a fresh approach coupled with new ideas can provide the leverage and power to meet the challenges faced by industry and business today. Changes taking place both internationally and nationally have given a totally new impetus to Indian business today. As such, any study of business management has not only to provide for necessary knowledge to operate in such a scenario, but also to develop the right mental attitude needed for applying that knowledge to practice.

 

The M.B.A. Programme Started in 1988 by Institute of Management, Jiwaji University does just that run by University on self-financing basis, the Institute has been playing a significant role in providing trained and qualified executives to meet the management needs of industry and business establishments. This MBA programme has already established sound reputation for innovative teaching, research and enterprise in many functional areas of management.The students undergo exhaustive training which includes analysis of case studies, seminars, group discussions etc. The Institute regularly invites academicians of repute from established management institutes and universities, as also senior practicing executives of leading business houses, so that the students have a wide exposure and scope, in so far as teaching inputs are

concerned. Industrial visit and in-company training are also organised as a part of the programme for a direct interaction with the functionaries of industries.  The department boast of a well-equipped library with the latest on management and subscribes to a variety of periodicals and journals. Audio - visual aids and computers are an integral part of teaching facilities available here at present.  The M.B.A. Programme leads to specialization in four areas, namely, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources Management & International Business.  The Institute of Management also runs a part -time MBA programme for working executives. A course in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) has been introduced in 1996.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) Part Time

Profile of the Courses :

M.B.A. (Part -time) Programme was introduced by the Institute of Management, Jiwaji University, Gwalior in 1995 for the benefit of lower/middle level employees of private as well as public sector business undertakings of Gwalior and Chambal region. The main objective of this programme is to develop managerial skills in such employees who could not get opportunity for formal higher management education in the beginning of their career and were inducted in business undertakings at lower level. This programme will assist them in improving not only their personality but their future career prospects too. The scheme is based on the principle earth and learn simultaneously as the classes for this programme are held in the evening. It is basically a management development programme hence, its thrust will not be on class teaching only but on case studies, continuous internal evaluation and so on.

(c) Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA):

1. Profile of the Courses :

This programme is basically for young ones who have just passed intermediate and want to have career in management field. This course is to provide the basic knowledge of management to young men and to generate managerial skills in them. This programme will assist them in improving not only their personality but their future career prospects too.

2. Duration of Programme.

The Bachelor of Business Administration Programme of the University is divided in three years duration and consists of six semester-two semester in first year, two semesters in second year and the remaining two semester in the third year of the programme.

3. Eligibility for Admission

Intermediate in any discipline with 50% marks from M.P. Board of Secondary Education or from any other Board declared as equivalent there to.

4. Available Seats :

The maximum number of candidates admitted to this course are Free Seats = 40        Payment Seats =  20

7. Practical Summer Training

Every student BBA shall be required to under go practical training in business organization in 4th semester (June-July) for a minimum period of 06 weeks.

A candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must, at the time of application, hold Masters degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of M.Phil. degree of the University, a deemed University or any other University incorporated by any law for the time being in force and recognized by the University.
