2. Profile of the Department

Central Library

School of Studies in Library and Information Science was started in the University in 1984 to impart quality education and modern skills in the field to the students of the region leading to Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Science and Master Degree in Library and Information Science. The Department is extensively engaged in teaching, research and career guidance too. The majority of the pass outs of the department have occupied good positions throughout the country.  The department is planning to establish a highly efficient computerised information system in the University. This job-oriented course has been modernized with use of the latest equipment in teaching and training at degree, Post graduate and research level.

3. Eligibility for Admission:

Eligibility for admission : Applicant must have passed a Bachelor degree from Jiwaji University or from any Indian/Foreign University recognised by the University with at least 50% marks in aggregate/or a second class Master degree of any recognised university with 50% marks in aggregate. On the basis of the index based on the merit in qualifying examination

Eligibility for admission :

B.Lib.I.Sc. with second division. A post graduate diploma in library science equivalent to B.Lib.I.Sc. from any University, recognized by UGC , New Delhi with at least second division provided he/she must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination.
