Rector

Dr. J. N. Gautam, Professor, School of Studies in Library and Information Science also holds the post of Rector at Jiwaji University, Gwalior, (MP). He is Dean Faculty of Arts and Chairman, Board of Studies as well. More than 30 candidates have completed their Ph.D/M.Phil under his guidance. He has chaired several technical sessions at National and International conferences and is a member of the Editorial boards of many journals of LIS. He has authored 6 books and has more than 60 research articles in National/International journals on various aspects of LIS to his credit. He has also visited Bhutan on an academic assignment. He is a Life Member of recognized professional associations like IATLIS, ILA, IASLIC and UPLA. His area of interest includes Library management system, Knowledge organization and processing, Knowledge management system, and Research methodology.

As a Professor of Library and Information Science and holding the charge of University Librarian, Dr. Gautam has been making painstaking efforts to give a face lift to the library and to modernise it with a view to bring it at par with the other renowned National and International libraries.
