Zoology and wildlife conservation and management, animal behavior, applied zoology etc. Research studies have been carried out in various research projects. Extensive environmental pollution, degradation of Environmental Sciences and M.Phil. Zoology are Environmental biology, aquatic animal habitats, biomounitoring etc.Studies on wildlife population (Dolphins wetland birds ,Crocodiles ,turtles ,monitor , lizards , honey bees etc),Biodiversity conservation in protected areas and Biosphere reserves have been done .Under the UNDP/GOI Inland wetlands program a project had sanctioned in 2001 to conduct Wetland surveys in Madhya Predesh and Chattisgarh . Research: The university Grants Commission sanctioned one research project on wildlife conservation and management during 2001. The result of all the research program are of use for the Government for taking measure for conservation and are also taught to the M.Sc. (Zoology) and M.Phil.(Zoology) and M.Sc. (Environmental Science). The students are encouraged to take up research studies on ecology and wildlife conservation and management. Five-research project has been completed. Two projects are in progress. Four students obtained Ph.D. under my guidance. Total No. Of Publications: -71 International Journals -22 National Journals -49 Book published -Edited: -1(Proc.) Short Summary of Teaching and Research accomplished: For the Last 5 years had been engaged in teaching of M.Sc. and M.Phil classes in Zoology. Lower and Higher non- chordata, animal physiology and biochemistry, general and applied entomology, instrumentation and techniques dealing with electro phoresis, chromatography. Western blotting and immune-detection are the areas of my teaching workload. The research activities during last 5 years included field study on the status of local species of Honeybees, introduction of colonies of apis mellifera in Gwalior region and to observe their performance, study on haemolymph proteins and digestive physiology of Apis mellifera. The significant publication during this period was the haemolymph protein profile worker bees under queenless condition Project on honeybees and bee keeping in Gwalior region sponsored by Department of Agriculture & cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture was carried out. A study dealing with the role of insect haemolymph proteins in bindingand transport of contact insecticides has been initialized under UGC sponsored project. The project is on the way and the achievement of the study in use techniques of UV-visible spectrophotometer and TLC in demonstration of insecticide-protein interaction without employing expensive and highly hazardous radiolablled insecticides. A study on collection, identification and prospects of Vermiculture has also being initiated and a significant progress is being made. The equipment facilities procured under GTZ (General Technical Cooperation) during 1996-97 are being employed for various teaching and research activities have also undertaken some research in collaboration with other scientists, Dr.R.J. Rao of Zoology Department (honeybee project), Prof.D.N. Saxena of zoology department (Vermiculture), Dr.D.D. Agarwal of chemistry department (mosquito repellency of natural and synthetic molecules), Dr.Sri prakash DRDE, Gwalior (Antennary sensory System of mosquitoes), Dr. R.C.Mishra of HAU, Hissar (Pollination by Honeybees), Dr. B.G. Srivastava of IARI, New Delhi (Artificial pollen substitute for honeybees). List of 5 top Publications: 1. S.K Behera and R.J.
